The ERH Funders Community

The ERH Funders Community is a growing network of foundation executives and program officers who recognize the importance of strong, positive, and nurturing parent-child relationships in advancing their missions and philanthropic strategies.

Launched in 2021 by Einhorn Collaborative, the Community that began with just two dozen funders has grown to more than 300 individuals united by a shared commitment to early relational health.

If you are part of the staff or board of a foundation (or other funding entity – private or public), you are welcome to participate in activities of the ERH Funders Community.

The ERH Funders Community 2027 Summit

We will be hosting our annual in-person gathering for 2027 at Cedarbrook Lodge in Seattle, WA, March 1-3. The theme for the Summit is “Funding the Future of Early Relational Health.” We want to explore how we as funders can learn from each other and from leaders in the community about how philanthropy can best support a vision of ERH for the next generation that we can all fall in love with.

  • The event is an opportunity for funders to lift their focus up and out from the routines of grantmaking to contemplate and imagine bigger and broader change for children, families, and communities.
  • Funders will explore topics like building and operationalizing trust, practicing accountability to future generations, and co-creating with voices that represent the wisdom of generations before us.
  • The exploration will be in partnership and collaboration with leaders who are exemplars and can inspire creative thinking among attendees.
  • Funders will also have time to absorb the “What” and “So What” from sessions and then process and discern “Now What” implications for their own grantmaking strategies.

We are capping attendance at 50 funders and will invite 25 local leaders to join us in co-creation and discussion throughout the Summit. To maximize the number of organizations represented, each organization is asked to register no more than two individuals.   • Hear inspirational ideas and case studies that can catalyze shared thinking around principles upon which the future of ERH should be grounded.

  • Choose your preferred method for processing and discerning the morning discussions.
  • Options may include: a site visit; time outdoors with others; writing and journaling; storytelling brainstorming.
4:00 PM – 5:00 PM Summit Programming – Sense-Making and Building

  • Following our electives, we will come back together as one group to share ideas and build new ones.

  • Having heard a lot of “What” the day before and discerned the “So What?” on Tuesday afternoon, we will explore alignment around action we can take toward building the future.

1:00 PM – 4:00 PM Summit Programming – Funders Only Session

  • How can we apply the vision and “Now What?” ideas we’ve developed over the past 48 hours to the learning and action groups within our community?
4:00 PM – 5:00 PM Summit Programming – Closing

  • Concluding activities and remarks.

The discounted group rate at Cedarbrook Lodge is $229.00 plus 12.5% tax per night and a $2.00 Tourism Assessment fee per night. All reservations must be guaranteed with a credit card at the time of booking. No deposit is required. Should you need to cancel your reservation for any reason, you must do so by 4:00 PM two days (at least 48 hours) prior to your arrival to avoid a penalty of one night room and tax.

Airline Itineraries

Plan to arrive in Seattle on Monday, March 1 in time for the opening reception and dinner at 5:30 PM. Keep in mind that there will be time for informal networking at 3:00 PM, and we are potentially planning optional pre-Summit site visits on Monday morning.

For departure, if flights allow you to get back to your home city on Wednesday, March 3, you may depart early evening. Rooms have been set aside in the group block if you need to stay over and depart on Thursday morning, and we are exploring possibilities for optional site visits that morning as well.

Weather / Dress Code

Please dress comfortably, no need for business attire. In early March, average high temperatures are around 53 degrees and average lows are around 40 degrees.
